Who is the Center for STEM Education? 

The Center matches the STEM and education resources of UNC Charlotte to the needs of the surrounding schools to improve K-12 mathematics, science, and engineering education in North Carolina.

The mission of the Center for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education is to promote a regional vision for STEM education and outreach, to increase capacity in leadership, and to facilitate collaborative partnerships for addressing STEM priorities for PreK-16.    

Special News October 2017

The NC Space Grant has selected UNC Charlotte along with East Carolina University to receive 4 scholarships each for pre-service education students in STEM. North Carolina Space Grant is funding research projects for undergraduate and graduate pre-service teachers that develop their understanding of best practices and strategies of effective teaching in K-12 schools. Pre-service teachers in this program will build on and add to the current research, knowledge, and curriculum that address and align with current NASA education themes and missions.
