Providence Day School Senior Emily Lorin Ashkin placed first in Biomedical and Health Sciences Category at the 2015 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. She presented her research titled “A Novel Synergistic Approach for Enhancing Immunotherapy in the Treatment of Melanoma” at the competition.
UNC Charlotte Center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education organizes Intel ISEF affiliated UNC Charlotte NC Regional Science & Engineering Fair. Every year two high school student projects is selected to represent the UNC Charlotte NC Regional Science & Engineering Fair at the Intel ISEF. Emily is one of the finalists from the 2015 UNC Charlotte NC Regional Science & Engineering Fair.
“The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), a program of Society for Science & the Public (SSP), is the world's largest international pre-college science competition. Approximately 1,700 high school students from over 75 countries, regions and territories showcase their independent research as they compete for approximately $4 million in prizes. The Intel ISEF is the premier global science competition for students in grades 9–12.”
2015 INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair was held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, May 10-15, 2015.
